At CEI Services, our in-house Design and Engineering team specialises in tailored solutions for the water and wastewater sector, combining deep industry knowledge with hands-on experience across treatment plants, pump stations, and distribution systems.

At CEI Services, we specialise in the design and manufacture of custom and modular switchboard solutions to suit a wide range of applications—from complex PLC/SCADA cubicles to high-capacity Main Switchboards up to 5000 Amps.

At CEI Services, clear communication of system intent is central to how we engineer and deliver electrical and control solutions. We develop comprehensive Control Philosophies and Functional Descriptions (FDs) that define how each process should operate—prior to programming or commissioning—ensuring all stakeholders are aligned before implementation begins.

To ensure performance, safety, and compliance, our engineering team performs detailed design and verification processes, including:

  • Heat rise calculations for switchboards to confirm thermal limits.
  • Cable sizing and voltage drop analysis, including application of derating factors.
  • Fault current and arc flash assessments to define protection requirements and switchgear ratings.
  • Protection selectivity and discrimination studies to ensure coordinated system response.
  • Earthing and bonding calculations for personnel protection and equipment integrity
  • Operation & Maintenance Manuals provided tailored to each Project.

Our in-house facility in Victoria supports full-scale manufacturing and pre-delivery testing of custom-built switchboards and control systems. With advanced workshop capability and skilled personnel across electrical, engineering, and automation disciplines, CEI is positioned to deliver complex infrastructure projects efficiently and reliably.

Leadership

With over 45 years in the electrical industry, John Church is the driving force behind CEI Services’ reputation as a company built on excellence, innovation, and integrity. His customer-first approach laid the foundation of CEI, shaping it into one of Victoria’s leading turnkey specialists in water and wastewater infrastructure.

John brings over 25 years of experience in the electrical industry, with deep roots in water and wastewater infrastructure. Holding a Diploma in Project Management and Subcontractor Management, he combines technical insight with strategic leadership to guide CEI Services across design, installation, and project delivery.

Aidan Ladiges brings over 23 years of experience in the electrical industry, with a strong focus on the water sector. His extensive technical background, combined with his Diploma of Project Management, enables him to deliver operational projects with confidence and precision.

Senior Estimator with over three decades of specialised experience in electrical estimating and tender preparation within the water and wastewater infrastructure sector. Demonstrated expertise in compiling detailed and competitive estimates for LV distribution, process automation, and custom switchboard installations within treatment plants and pump station environments.

Financial Manager at CEI Services, bringing over 30 years of expertise in financial management and strategic planning. With a strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, he ensures the company’s financial health and supports sustainable growth through sound economic leadership.

Beau Hopkins is a respected leader in the electrical manufacturing industry, with deep expertise in switchboard construction and standards. From PLC cubicles to 4000A LV assemblies, Beau brings hands-on technical knowledge that ensures every switchboard is built to the highest quality, safety, and compliance standards.
